What we collect

Account details you give us (name, email, date of birth, gender, country), the photos, videos and captions you post, the trips you save, your chat messages with the AI assistant, and — only when you allow it — your device location.

How we use it

To run Explorix: show nearby places, plan itineraries, find transport connections, power the social feed, and (if you enable TravelMate) let nearby travellers find you. TravelMate only ever shows your approximate area, and nearby visibility expires automatically after a few hours.

Where it is stored and who processes it

Data is stored in the EU (Frankfurt): our database on Supabase, chat history on MongoDB Atlas and media on Google Cloud Storage, where files stay private and are shared only through short-lived links. AI replies are generated by Anthropic (Claude) or our own model; personal details are redacted from prompts where possible. Maps are provided by Mapbox and timetables by public transport APIs (Deutsche Bahn, VBB).

Your rights

You can view and edit your profile at any time, delete your posts and trips, and hide yourself from nearby travellers. To export or delete your account, contact us at hello@explorix.app.
